The Strawberry Full Moon Yin and Sound

Where does the name come from?

This “Strawberry Full Moon” name has been used by Native American tribes to mark the ripening of “June-bearing” strawberries that are ready to be gathered. As flowers bloom and early fruit ripens, June is a time of great abundance for many.

Strawberry Moon’s spiritual meaning and how to make the most of it.

The Strawberry Moon’s spiritual meaning is tied to the fact that it represents a time of new potential, renewal and abundance in line with ripening fruits. Our energy shifts in a positive way at this time of year, so if you’ve been feeling restricted by your own beliefs then this full moon is a perfect time to renew the faith.

The Strawberry Moon signifies a time of change and new potential, so try and be kind to yourself and allow room for self growth.

Given that this full moon occurs halfway through the year, it’s a valuable opportunity to take stock and reflect on what you’ve accomplished so far, as well as looking towards what you want to achieve in the second half of the year. This Strawberry Moon is in the fire sign of Sagittarius this year, a good time to harness the strong and fiery energy to help you realign and realise your goals. Capitalise on the rising summer energy to live out your intentions.

What is Yin and Sound?

In the first part of the class you’ll be guided by Dee into deep Yin stretches to increase flexibility and mobility whilst training the mind and body to surrender to the present moment.

During the sound healing experience with Amy, she’ll aim to relax the mind and body using a variety of instruments such as crystal singing bowls, brass bowls, gongs and chimes.

Benefits of practising Yin yoga

  • Increases circulation and revitalises the tissues of the body
  • Reduces stress and anxiety

Benefits of sound healing

  • Encourages deep relaxation which aids in meditation
  • Awakens, aligns and balances energy in the body
  • Synchronises brain waves to restore the normal vibratory frequencies of cells

Sound healing and Yin yoga complement each other by invoking the parasympathetic nervous system, reducing stress and helping the body to find peace, calm and presence.
